Lost City is a 4 day trek to a distinguish indigenous ruins, visited by adventurous hikers and people interested in Tayrona culture, an ancient native community of Colombia. Rivers, mountains, big trees, and waterfalls surround this historical and sacred place, located inside Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta.
Day 1: 6km walk from the entrance to the first stop
We pick you in a Jeep at your hostel, driving a trip of 3 hours until we arrive to the place where trail starts (Vereda del Mamey). Later we will walk 6 kms to reach the first cabin (“Adan or Alfredo”), during the trek we will enjoy some hidden natural pools in nature.
Day 2: Getting closer to Lost City
Waking up early to start the trip to “Mumake” Camping to take lunch and swim in Buritaca River. Then we will go to “Mutanyi”, an indigenous settlement of Kogui People. After a long trek of 8 or 9 hours, we arrive to the second campsite, Paraiso Teyuna, located just 1 hour from Lost City.
Day 3: Visiting Ciudad Perdida
In the trail to Lost City we will walk over stairs and terraces made centuries ago, Lost City is one of the 7 wonders of Colombia. The place was discover in 1973 by “Guaraqueros” (Tomb Raiders) and Colombian Goverment found out of the place because of rumors in Santa Marta about gold and precious stones. After enjoy this amazing place we go back to sleep in a camp, “Mumake ó Tezumake”.
Day 4: Saying goodbye to Jungle
We go back to Mamey Gate (8 or 9 hours walking), where we will stop to have lunch and later go back to Santa Marta.
